2 men on motorcycle yield gun, arrested

Two men on a motorcycle on Saturday were arrested after they yielded a gun at a checkpoint in Angeles City, Pampanga.

Angeles City Police director Col. Amado Mendoza identified the two suspects as Alberto Gran and Arnold Nulud.

The police were conducting checkpoint at the Angeles Dau boundary, McArthur Highway in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City when they spotted two men on a plateless motorcycle not wearing helmets.

When the cops tried to stop the motorcycle, they saw the backrider suddenly throw a brown holster in an abandoned building near the checkpoint.

Upon inspection, the Angeles City cops found inside the holster a .38 revolver loaded with five live bullets.

The two suspects will be charged with violations of RA 10054 (Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009), RA 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearm) and of Omnibus Election Code (Gun Ban).
