2018 Caragan biggest one yet, says Garbo

MABALACAT, Pamp. — Thousands of spectators trooped to witness the street dancing competition of the Caragan Festival over the week, participated in by 49 public and private schools.

Considered as the biggest festival not only in Pampanga but in the entire Central Luzon, City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo said more than 30,000 participants and spectators joined the annual festivities which highlighted the street dance competition.

Garbo took time in thanking the Sangguniang Panglusod led by Vice Mayor Cristian Halili and his councilors for allocating funds for the festivity’s success.

The mayor said the festivities not only promote culture but also peace and harmonious relationship to each and every Mabalaqueño.

“Above all I am thanking the Lord for his guidance in making this biggest event a successful one,” Garbo stressed.

The annual festival is in honor of Caragan, the chieftain Aeta that founded Mabalacat which was named after Balacat Trees.

The Mayor also thanked City Administrator Rosan Paquia, City Legal Counsel Atty. Ignacio, Newly Appointed Tourism Officer Arwin Lingat, General Services Officer Jun Magbalot, City Information Officer Michelle Ong and department heads for the whole preparation of the festival.
