5 alleged maintainers of CSF drug dens arrested

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Five suspected maintainers of illegal drugs dens were arrested by anti-narcotics operatives following simultaneous raids in three illegal drugs dens at Northville 14, Barangay Calulut here Wednesday.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Central Luzon director Juvenal Azurin identified the suspects as
Glenn V. Sison, 25; May Flor L. Lam-An, 35; Senen J. Reyes Jr., 30; Jhonathan D. Bendaṅa, 24; and Arnold C. Lagazon, 40, all residents of said place.

Armed with search warrant, Azurin said the raiding teams, compose of PDEA-National Capital Region and Philippine Army combatants, swooped down on suspected drug dens after the operatives confirmed the existence of drug dens in the village.

Calulut was recently declared as a drug-free community by the local police based on assessment made by the local government unit and the peace and order council in this city.

“It turned out that said village is still infested by illegal drugs specifically methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu),” said a PDEA operative who declined to be named as he is not allowed to speak to the media.

Azurin said the suspected drug dens were situated in a thickly-populated community particularly along Phase 1, Block 49, Lot 24.

Northville 14 is habituated by former residents in slum area along the Philippine National Railways (PNR) in Pampanga.

In his report to PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeῆa, Azurin said targets of the anti-narcotics operations include Sison, Lam-an and Reyes who were included in the list of illegal drugs personalities in the province.

The raiding teams seized quantitative amount of shabu weighing 63 grams with an estimated street value of Php 289,800.00 and various drug paraphernalia.

The suspects were brought to PDEA headquarters for further investigation as violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied against them.
