5 pushers yield more than P164K worth of shabu in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY – Over PHP164,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from five alleged illegal drug pushers in separate drug stings on Tuesday in Camarines Sur, Albay and Masbate provinces, the Police Regional Office-5 (PRO-5) said.

Major Malu Calubaquib, PRO-5 spokesperson, on Wednesday said in Iriga City, Camarines Sur, Mark Christian Orbon, 39, a high value target (HVT) illegal drug pusher, was caught selling shabu in a drug operation.

“Seized from the suspect was 20 grams of shabu worth PHP136,000,” she said.

In Canaman town, also in Camarines Sur, anti-narcotics operative collared Joseph Ballena a.k.a. Apok, 38, of Barangay Pang-pang, around 11:50 a.m.

The suspect yielded two sachets of shabu with a street value of PHP15,000.

In Legazpi City, Albay, Cleonel Moyo, 34, a drug surrenderer from Barangay Bitano, was nabbed selling shabu to an undercover agent in a drug operation around 1 p.m.

The suspect yielded one sachet of shabu worth PHP11,500.

In Tabaco City, Albay, Antonio Butial a.k.a. “Adit”, 38, also an HVT illegal drug pusher, was collared in a buy bust in Barangay Sto. Cristo, around 5:15 p.m.

Police operatives confiscated from him four sachets of shabu worth PHP2,000.

In Masbate City, Masbate, Salvador Ubac a.k.a. “Kaliwa”, 52, of Barangay Ibingay, was caught selling three sachets of shabu during a drug operation in Barangay Espinosa, around 3:30 p.m.The suspects are now detained at the police stations in their respective areas, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (PNA)
