8 top performing coops in Pampanga recognized

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – At least 8 top performing cooperatives in the province were recently recognized and awarded during the 2nd Pampanga Cooperative Summit held at the Benigno Hall, here.

A total of 180 representatives from several cooperatives graced the event that highlighted the achievement and success of the organization in building economic growth, promoting social development while reducing poverty by facilitating job creation and opportunities.

This year’s event has its theme, “Cooperatives: Partners for Building Resilient and Empowered Communities towards a Better and Stronger Philippines.”

Some of the cooperatives that were awarded are: Nayong Tsinoy Credit Cooperative, ASCOM Multipurpose Cooperative, San Fernando Elementary School Teachers Multipurpose Cooperative, San Simon Multipurpose Cooperative, St. James the Apostle Multipurpose cooperative, Guagua Multipurpose Cooperative, Apung Monica De Minalin Multipurpose Cooperative at Mabalacat City Cooperative Development Council.

In behalf of the Provincial Government, Board Member Anthony Joseph Torres, chairperson of the provincial cooperative development council (PCDC) thanked various cooperatives in the province for their continuous support in facilitating numerous programs that benefits their members.

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa inyo sa patuloy sa suportang ibinibigay nyo hindi lamang sa probinsya kundi maging sa mga miyembro ng inyong mga kooperatiba.

Torres also congratulated the Provincial Cooperative and Economic Development Office (PCEDO) headed by Luningning Vergara for the success of the event.

Apart from the awards, Cooperative Development Agency (CDA) presented their programs and updates while a brief discourse on Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Act and Tax Incentives Management and Transparency Act (TIMTA) were also discussed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue representatives. –Ma.
