MANILA, Philippines – In a major breakthrough for cross-border law enforcement, the Philippine National Police (PNP), in coordination with the Royal Malaysia Police, secured the arrest of murder suspect Alan Dennis Sytin y Lim, a fugitive wanted in connection with the 2018 killing of his brother, businessman Dominic Sytin.
Sytin, 51, was turned over to the PNP at NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City on April 11, 2025, following his arrest by Malaysian authorities on March 22 for immigration violations. He had been staying illegally in Malaysia after his Philippine passport was canceled in 2024.

A warrant of arrest for murder was issued against Sytin in 2020 by the Manila Regional Trial Court, with no bail recommended. He is the prime suspect in the fatal shooting of his brother outside the Lighthouse Hotel in SBMA, Olongapo City.
The operation was led by Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), in close coordination with the Aviation Security Group, the San Fernando Police Station, and the Philippine Police Attaché to Malaysia. A Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters (MACM) request and an Interpol Red Notice facilitated the arrest.
“This mission reflects the PNP’s unyielding resolve to bring criminals to justice, wherever they may flee,” said PNP spokesperson PBGEN Jean Fajardo, praising the international cooperation that made the arrest possible.
