MAGALANG, Pampanga – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has shut down the Chuangxing Steel Incorporated plant in Barangay Navaling as authorities investigate allegations that the company produced substandard steel bars that failed to meet Philippine National Standards (PNS), along with alleged environmental violations involving radioactive materials. The case has been referred to the Department of Justice for further proceedings.
Chuangxing denied the allegations and said it is fully cooperating with investigators. Company spokesperson Atty. Ryan Solano said Chuangxing operates under valid environmental permits, including an Environmental Compliance Certificate issued by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
“Chuangxing Steel has nothing to hide,” Solano said, adding that the company is confident the evidence will show it complied with Philippine laws and regulations.
