A world expo first: Ballet Philippines performs on the live façade of the Philippine Pavilion

OSAKA, JAPAN – The Philippines once again breaks new ground at Expo 2025 Osaka  with the launch of its first-ever live performance façade in World Expo history— brought to life by the internationally acclaimed Ballet Philippines

From now until June 15, visitors to the Philippine Pavilion can witness this rare and  visually arresting performance as dancers take to the pavilion’s exterior,  transforming architecture into a living stage. Nestled behind the intricate woven  panels of the Pavilion façade, the performances surprise and delight audiences,  unfolding in rhythm with the Pavilion’s multisensory storytelling.

“This is an embodiment of our theme, Nature, Culture, and Community: Woven Together  for a Better Future,” said Carlo Calma, lead architect and designer of the Philippine  Pavilion. “It’s a powerful celebration of movement, Filipino identity, and artistic collaboration—seen in a way like never before at a World Expo,” Maria Margarita  Montemayor Nograles, COO of the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines and Secretary  General of the Philippine Organizing Committee, added.

With only a limited number of showings until mid-June, this unique experience offers  Expo visitors a rare chance to see world-class Filipino talent animated through  architectural innovation.

Catch it while you can. The stage is the building. The performers, proudly Filipino. And the  experience—unforgettable.
