AirAsia eyes Clark-Japan route

An official from AirAsia confirmed that the airline will launch its Clark-Japan route at the fourth quarter of this year.

This was bared by the official, who doesn’t want to named, during the relaunch of Clark-Davao route last Sunday.

Philippines AirAsia’s Commercial Head Gerard Peñaflor appealed to passengers to support the carrier as it is eyeing to launch more routes out of Clark.

” We’ll just share with you the regional connectivity of AirAsia. Once we start doing international routes, mas malawak po ang mapupuntahan ninyo. Ang pinakahub po ng AirAsia is in Kuala Lumpur. In fact, we just recently launched yung Kuala Lumpur-Hawaii namin via Japan. So you have access to USA now,” Peñaflor said.

He said AirAsia will launch more interesting destinations out of the region.

“Domestic-wide, we are doing the same thing. We try to connect more of the domestic routes to Clark and from Clark. Maraming plano ang AirAsia dito sa atin. So please do stand by for that. Also, to put it out there, we are finally back. This is where we started. I was not part of it but I heard a lot of good stories from our partners CIAC and from media. In fact, I think we have an office here before na na-renovate na. So that gives the impression that we are back,” Peñaflor furthered.

Last Sunday, flights from Davao to Clark, officially recommence providing Davaoenos access to Northern part of the Philippines via Clark International Airport in Pampanga.

“Clark is the gateway to Baguio, the summer capital of the Philippines, and amazing attractions like surfing in La Union; culinary tours of Pampanga; beach and water sports activities in Pangasinan to eco-adventure in the highlands of the cordilleras and much more await every traveller this summer,” Philippines AirAsia Director of Flight Operations Captain Gomer Monreal added.

AirAsia returned to Clark airport in March this year following the launch of Clark-Kalibo operating 3x weekly.
