CDC police, paramedic prompt response on accident cited

CLARK FREEPORT— The victims of hit-and-run inside this Freeport cited the prompt response of the police and paramedics personnel of the state-owned firm which led​ ​to the immediate arrest ​of ​the suspect and application of first aid treatment few minutes after the incident.

The Public Safety Division (PSD) of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) identified the suspect as Lalaine Ortiz, 27, of Bagain St., Sta. Veronica, Guimba, Nueva Ecija, who tried to escape the scene of accident along the intersections of Creekside and Centennial Road here around 6:00 p.m. on August 14 after hitting a motorcycle with two passengers.

Ortiz was driving a white KIA utility vehicle with plate number AMA 7809.

CDC police personnel assigned in the area were immediately dispatched after receiving a Be On Look Out (BOLO) message from PSD Traffic Chief Jesus Marquez. The suspect was intercepted near the Gil Puyat highway in Clark. The apprehending officers include SG Pineda who chased the vehicle driven by ​Ortiz and CDC Police Officers Ritzi Dizon and Efren Bacuno.

CDC will be filing case against Ortiz for hit and run, and reckless imprudence resulting to multiple injuries and damage to properties and driving without a valid driver’s license.

Meanwhile, CDC paramedics and ambulance from the Health and Sanitation Division also immediately responded in less than five minutes to ​the ​hit-​and​-​run victims who were identified as Michael Angelo Laxamana, 25, and Villa Lasvinia, 29, of District 10 B63 L24 Mexico, Pampanga. Both victims suffered abrasions in the knees. After the paramedics applied first aid, the two were ​taken to the Mabalacat District Hospital for further treatment.

Responding paramedics were Benjamin Ruiz, Noel Anthony Vasallo, Peterson Cortez.

The accident occurred after Ortiz ignored the four-way-stop intersection and accidentally hit a crossing motorcycle.

The victims thanked the CDC police and paramedics for the arrest of the suspect and first aid treatment and for bringing to them to hospital for treatment on their abrasions.

CDC has reiterated calls to the motoring public to observe traffic rules, including speed limits on the Freeport’s road network​s​.

The state-run firm has mounted speed limit signage​s​ located in many strategic areas, not only along M.A. Roxas Highway, but also in the arterial road networks for the information of motorists in Clark.

CDC has also installed more closed-circuit television camera​s​ (CCTV​s​) on major intersections here for the PSD’s Central Command to monitor the movement of vehicular traffic and for security of the Freeport.
