LUBAO, Pampanga – At least 7,044 indigents here received Philhealth Medical Data Records (MDRs) as part of the convergence efforts of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth), Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through “Alaga Ka” program.
The beneficiaries were identified through the National House Targeting System (NHTS) conducted by the DSWD that aims to provide help to the poorest of the poor.
After the lecture made by the Philhealth personnel, Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led the distribution of MDRs to the beneficiaries noting that Cabalens can now benefit from Philhealth services that guarantees zero balance billing.
“Gusto ko gamitin n’yo yung Philhealth n’yo, pacheck up kayo. Libre ang pagpapagamot n’yo sa mga pampublikong ospital,” the governor said.
She also assured that the indigent beneficiaries can properly avail of the health services in rural health units, district and provincial hospitals as well as accredited government-run infirmaries.
The lady governor pointed out that non-Philhealth members can avail medical services through the “point of care” program.
“Those who are non-Philhealth members have nothing to worry about because they could still avail the benefits of Philhealth through the POC. They would be automatically enrolled to Philhealth after the assessment of the social worker,” she said.
During the distribution, Governor Pineda was assisted by Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab together with 2nd district Board Members Joseph Anthony “Tonton” Torres, Salvador B. Dimson Jr. and PCL President Fritzy David-Dizon. –Ma. Reina Len Luna/PIO
