To ensure that persons with disabilities (PWDs) are also prepared during disasters and emergencies, the City Government of San Fernando hosted a Basic Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Training Course for PWDs on October 5.
This was organized by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council 3 in partnership with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.
Among the topics highlighted during the activity were the Hydromet Hazards and their Effects to People and the Environment, Earthquake Drills and Basic First Aid in Times of Disaster and the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act 10754 or an Act Expanding the Benefits and Privileges of PWDs.
