Ten drug suspects killed, 132 arrested in Bulacan dope war

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan –Staccatos of gunfire roared into the night as armed suspected drug dealers allegedly engaged police anti-narcotics operatives into armed encounters and when the smokes cleared, at least ten drug dealers were dead while 132 others were arrested in a series of “One Time, Big Time” anti-drug operations in different parts of Bulacan Thursday.

Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., reported to Central Luzon police regional director Chief Supt. Amador Corpuz that more than a kilo of shabu and 12 firearms were seized in the said province-wide anti-drug operations.

Caramat said that a total of 78 police operations—67 of which were buy-bust operations and 11 were raids on pot sessions and Oplan Sita– were conducted that led to nine encounters which resulted to the killing 10 drug personalities.

He said that a total of 360 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 109.9898 grams, four teabags of suspected dried marijuana leaves, six caliber .38 revolvers, five improvised shotguns and a caliber .45 gun were were seized during the police operations, Caramat added.

In the City of San Jose del Monte, Supt. Fitz Macariola said that the city police Drug Enforcement Unit conducted eight anti-drug operations which resulted to the busting of 29 drug personalities.

Macariola said that the anti-drug campaign of the city police department will never sleep and will continue to track down drug suspects in the city. —EMIL G. GAMOS
