CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- The number 1 Most Wanted person in Samar was killed during a shootout with police, yesterday, November 20, 2017 in Tarlac City.
In a report that reached this Camp, joint operatives of Tarlac City Police and Intelligence Branch, Samar PPO proceeded at Zaraga Apartment, 2nd St. Fairlane Subd. Brgy. San Vicente, Tarlac City to serve the Warrant of Arrest against Genesis Oquenso alias Etin of Calbayug City, Samar, leader of OQUENDO Group engaged in Gun for Hire and Number 1 Most Wanted Person in Samar Province for three counts of Murder under CC nr. 7442 , 7443 and 8009 issued by Hon. Judge Ernesto L. Penaflor of RTC Br 32, Calbayug City, Samar.
Upon arrival of operating team at said place, Oquendo opened fire which ensued in a firefight and resulted in his instantaneous death while his other cohorts who were caught in the house adjacent to said apartment were arrested.
The arrested persons were identified as William Remon, 53 years old, married, Contractor, a resident of Purok 5, Brgy. Paulog, Ligao, Albay; Gerone Vasquez, 43, married, security guard, a resident of Purok 1, Brgy. Banao, Ginubatan, Albay; Henry Palmones, 48 years old, farmer, a resident of Brgy. San Francisco, Gunubatan, Albay; and, Victor Vasquez, 40 years old, married, a resident of Banao, Guinubatan, Albay.
Seized from their possession were the following: one (1) STE EDGE Cal .45 with serial number 763127 loaded with seven (7) live ammunition; one (1) Colt cal .45 with serial number 120581 loaded with two (2) live ammunition; one (1) Cal .38 loaded with 4 live ammunition on its cylinder; and, five (5) ammunition for Cal.45.
Meanwhile, recovered from the crime scene were two fired cartridge cases for 9MM, four fired cartridge cases for cal .45 and one Cal .45 pistol PARA 1911.
“This accomplishment only goes to show that the PNP-PRO3 is stern in its implementation of an obstinate and efficient campaign against lawlessness especially those who are wanted by the law. We will keep on conducting a wide range pro-active approach/strategy in our fight against criminality,” PRO3 Regional Director P/Chief Supt. Amador Corpus said.
