The first day of the Aldo Ning Kapampangan or Pampanga Day celebration on Wednesday focused on the programs of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) according to Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda.
The event conducted at the facade of the Provincial Capitol Building was attended by Governor Lilia “Nanay Pineda, Second District Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, provincial board members, mayors and other government officials, DOLE officials including the thousands of beneficiaries from the DOLE programs, specifically the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) and Tulong Panghanapbuhay Sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD).
Vice Governor Pineda said that through the initiative of President Rodrigo Duterte, Governor Pineda and Congresswoman Arroyo, the Kapampangans benefit a lot from the DOLE programs.
He added that there were more than 5, 000 TUPAD beneficiaries and the first batch for the SPES students received an allocation of P12-million budget.
Meanwhile, Vice Governor Pineda hoped that the livelihood program prioritized by the provincial government for the TUPAD beneficiaries and those coming from the ground zero victims of the bird flu last August was a big help to them.
He also advised the SPES beneficiaries to use their P8, 000 assistance for their education assuring that the scholarship program of the provincial capitol would be continuous.
On the other hand, a Memorandum of Agreement tend to punish illegal recruiters and monitoring of human trafficking was signed between the provincial government of Pampanga and DOLE during the event.
