CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Government agents rescued 26 women working as entertainers during simultaneous raids against Rhapsody Bar and Bad Boy Club along Fields Avenue, allegedly owned by foreigners at Barangay Balibago, Angeles City Tuesday.
Lawyer Jorge Juralbal, Regional Director of the National Bureau of Investigation-Central Luzon, said the crackdown against prostitution houses in Angeles City, is in line with the directive issued by the Department of Justice following complaint filed by some quarters against the existence of flesh trade in that city.
Juralbal said an American staying in Angeles City, who have expressed deep concern over the prostitution business wrote a complaint letter to the Office of the Presidential Action Center seeking swift intervention on the unlawful business at the entertainment strip.
Though no minors were found during the processing, Juralbal said NBI agents were able to take girls out of the clubs in exchange of hefty sum of cash.
“Bar fine is prohibited under the law, it is human trafficking,” said Barangay Balbago Chairman Rodelio “Tony” Mamac.
Mamac said entertainment spots along Fields Avenue are aware of the consequences one they violated the anti trafficking of person act.
“I’m not remissed of my job, we have informed them not to engage in human trafficking once they applied for business clearance.” Mamac said.
The rescued women were brought to NBI Regional Office where they underwent processing from personnel of the Socia Welfare Department..
Violation of Anti Trafficking in Person Act was filed against the owner of Rhapsody Bar and Bad Boy Club including a Korean and a Filipina manager.
