FORT MAGSAYSAY, NUEVA ECIJA – 7ID Troopers who were deployed in Marawi during the Marawi siege got promoted at Philippine Army Headquarters yesterday morning.
Over 60 enlisted personnel of 7ID were promoted one rank higher for their performance during the Marawi siege last year.
The donning of ranks was administered by Lieutenant General Rolando Joselito D Bautista AFP, Commanding General, Philippine Army.
Kaugnay Troopers from 48IB, 69IB and 91IB were students of a Scout Ranger Course who took part in the Focused Military Operations (FMO) as part of the units under First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSRR), Special Operations Command (SOCOM) while members of 72DRC conducted checkpoint and support operations during the siege.
Three troops moved up from Technical Sergeant to Master Sergeant, three Staff Sergeant to Technical Sergeant, two Sergeant to Staff Sergeant, 13 Corporal to Sergeant and 39 Private First Class to Corporal.
Major General Jr. Felimon T. Santos, Commander of 7ID, took pride in having men who performed exceptionally during the Marawi siege. He said that everybody’s role is vital in the success of the government in one of its greatest trials.
