RFC race 2018 to be held in Pampanga Aug. 24-27

ANGELES CITY – The Rainforest Challenge (RFC) Global Series-Philippines 2018 will be held in Pampanga from August 24 to 27.

This is according to RFC-Philippines Race Director Renato G. Romero who attended the press conference on Friday at the Park Inn-Raddison Clark. He added that at least 44 competitors will join the completion.

“We are happy the event will held in Pampanga for the second straight year considering there are other beautiful places in the country,” said Romero.

Atty. Roberto J. Consunji, Philippine Representative to RFC of Malaysia, said the contest is described the “toughest race in the world.”

He said the competions and other preparations will held at Clark, Mabalacat City and the towns of Porac, Floridablanca and Arayat. Some of the tough races will be held at the Cong Dadong Dam in Arayat and Palakol River in Floridablanca.

Consunji said the winner will receive P100,000 and represent the country to the RFC Malaysia race to be held in West Malaysia on November 25, 2018.

Last year, Sto. Tomas, Pampanga Mayor John Sambo won the RFC –Philippines competition also held in Pampanga.

Others who attended the press conference were Local Government Unit Liason Official of RFC-Philippines Marni Castro, RFC-Philippines Race Director Dennis Javier and Jaybee Atanacio of Maxxis Tires Philippines.

Castro thanked the LGUs for supporting their projects and invited to public to watch the events.

Javier said they will make the race courses “difficult” and at par with the designs at the RFC races in Malaysia.
