Villar: NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 to be completed by end of 2018

CALOOCAN CITY – Public Works Secretary Mark Villar on Thursday announced that the P15.55-billion NLEX Harbor Link Project Segment 10 will be completed by the end of 2018.

Villar bared this during his inspection of the project at the portion in Caloocan City. The project is steadily accelerating with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) fast-tracking the turnover of the remaining right-of-way (ROW) needed to complete the section between Karuhatan, Valenzuela City to C3 Road and Caloocan City.

NLEX Corporation officials led by Senior Vice President for Tollways Development and Engineering Raul Ignacio hosted the of inspection of Villar on the Caloocan section of the project.

The 8.25 kilometer elevated highway is seen to decongest traffic at the Balintawak section (south bound) of the North Luzon Expressway.

The project is also seen to help decongest traffic in Metro Manila as cargo trucks are expected to use the NLEX Harbor Link Project Segment 10.

The ROW accomplishments now stand at 95 percent. The available ROW in Valenzuela is currently 96 percent, while 86 percent in Caloocan.

“We are committed to deliver the remaining right-of-way so we can finish the important infrastructure that will decongest traffic in Manila as soon as possible,” Villar said.
