CAMP GEN ALEJO S SANTOS, Bulacan — Three suspected drug pushers were killed in a shootout with anti-narcotics operatives of the Bulacan Police while 16 more were apprehended including a High-Value Target (HVT) retired cop on Tuesday and early morning of Wednesday as police intensify the campaign against illegal drugs.
P/Sr. Supt. Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan PNP Provincial Director identified the fatalities as a certain Alias Deo, a newly identified drug personality during the drug operation in Municipal Road Brgy. Capihan, San Rafael, Bulacan on Wednesday while the other two who were killed in Pinagkuartelan Pandi, Bulacan on Tuesday was alias Eugene and his unidentified companion.
“Based on the report the suspects engaged the operatives in a shootout when they noticed that they were transacting with police officers who acted as poseur buyers which resulted in the suspects’ death,” Bersaluna said.
Confiscated from the crime scenes were 18 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, 2 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected dried “marijuana” leaves, two calibers .38 and one .45 caliber firearms, one red Honda TMX 125, without plate number, Honda Tricycle with plate No. QL 4370, and the buy-bust money.
Sixteen more drug suspects were arrested including a retired police officer, Bersaluna identified the arrested High-Value Target ex-cop as Rogaciano Geronimo alias Roning.
Geronimo was collared by the operatives of City of Meycauayan police led by Supt. Sonny Mera during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Bayugo, in the said city on Tuesday evening.
Other suspects arrested during the sting in cities/towns of Malolos, San Jose del Monte, Norzagaray Baliwag, Obando, Angat, and Marilao were identified as Verson Pinpin, Victor Hernandez, Arnold Cruz, Renato Talastas, Allan Bolina, Sherwin San Jose, Marvin Ramos, Emil Gaspar, Victor Hernandez, Alexander Salazar, Jeffrey Lazaro, Mark Pagunasan, Roland Ruiz, Paul John Vallejos, and Carolina Reyes.
A total of 43 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected “shabu”; buy-bust money; one Armscor caliber .45 pistol with eight (8) ammo. and assorted drug paraphernalia was confiscated during the operation.
“Arrested drug suspects are now under police custody while cases of violation of R.A. 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act were charged against them,” Bersaluna added.
