PDEA, partner conduct seminar on Tradenet System

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) through its Compliance Service and the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry Organization of the Philippines, Inc. (CPIOPI) jointly conducted a seminar on the application of TradeNet System.

TradeNet will replace the existing Philippine National Single Window (PNSW) in the application of import and export permits by phases.

PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino said the seminar, which was conducted on September 28, 2018 in Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon City, was attended by representatives from pharmaceutical and chemical companies who are importing and exporting controlled substances regulated by PDEA.

TradeNet is a system tagged as “The Philippines Gateway for Trade Facilitation”, which is an Inter-Agency Business Process Inter-operability project of the Department of Finance and developed by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). It is a single portal designed to harmonized applications with 76 Trade Regulatory Government Agencies (TRGAs) for licenses and permits through seamless and paperless transactions that can be accessed by importers and exporters.

“The conduct of the seminar on TradeNet is in consonance with Republic Act No. 11032 or “An Act Promoting Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Delivery of Government Services, Amending for the purpose Republic Act No. 9485, otherwise known as “The Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA) of 2007, and for other purposes,” said Director Helen Maita Reyes of PDEA Compliance Service.

Six randomly selected companies experienced lodging their licenses and import/export applications using the TradeNet system during the day-long seminar.

The on-boarding of PDEA to the TradeNet system is expected on October 2018.

“TradeNet system will surely boost the economy of the country through trade facilitation by TRGAs which is transparent and seamless,” Aquino pointed out.
