BALANGA CITY — Provincial Council on the Welfare of Children (PCWC) recognized Mariveles as having the Most Functional Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) among the municipalities and city in Bataan.
In his message during the awarding ceremony, Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion said the key to sustaining the child-friendly status is to provide inclusive support to families which will ultimately benefit children, and forge partnerships with developmental organizations.
“The secret to an effective program for the children underlies in the willingness of barangay officials to participate and involve their constituents,” Concepcion added.
Moreover, PCWC recognized Batangas II and Baseco in Mariveles and Santa Lucia in Samal as Most Outstanding LCPC-Barangay level.
Chaired by Governor Albert S. Garcia, PCWC also recognized all 12 municipal and city governments for making the province a safe place for children which resulted in Bataan being conferred with the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance.
