HERMOSA, Bataan — Around P500 thousand worth of shabu and two loose firearms were confiscated from a couple in an early Sunday raid conducted by the local police in Barangay Balsik here.
In a report submitted to Police Colonel Villamor Tuliao, Bataan OIC Police Director, by Hermosa OIC Police chief, Police Major Madtaib Jalman, the suspects were identified as Henry Layug, 25, a resident of Barangay Balsik of this municipality and Jinky Villareal, 19, residing at Barangay San Pablo, Dinalupihan, Bataan.
The operation according to Major Jalman was an implementation of Search Warrant (Violation of R.A. 10591, Omnibus election code and R.A. 9165) at around 6 a.m. by joint elements of Hermosa MPS, CIDG Bataan led by Major Rex Perocho, 1st PMFC, Bataan HPG led by Major Joel Maranion and Maritime Group.
The police operation resulted to the confiscation and seizure of 2 pcs. Federal cal. 45 pistols; four pieces caliber 45 magazines; 30 pcs. bullets of Cal. 45; two pcs. weighing scale; 2 pcs improvised glass tube pipe; 2 pcs. improvised burner; 2 large size heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu; 6 pcs. medium size heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containg shabu; 5 pcs. small size heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu; and cash money amounting to P4000. in different denominations. Jalman added that the amount of suspected shabu has a street value of more or less five hundred thousand pesos.
“This is the result of our two-week surveillance,” Major Jalman told this reporter. Hermosa mayor Jopet Inton lauded the successful police operation now tagged as the biggest illegal drugs haul to date in this municipality.
As of press time, the suspects are presently detained at Hermosa MPS while appropriate charges are being prepared against them.
