MABALACAT CITY — A 5-day pre-poll survey conducted on 3,000 respondents here revealed that voters favor Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda to win as governor of Pampanga.
The respondents also favored re-electionist lawmaker Jonjon Lazatin (Pampanga 1st District), Mabalacat mayoral bet Christian Halili and vice mayoral bet Marino “Boking” Morales.
The survey was conducted between April 29 and May 3, 2019 in the 27 barangays and three resettlement centers in Mabalacat City – Mawaque, Madapdap and Camachiles.
Gubernatorial bet Pineda got 81 percent of the respondents while his opponent Jomar Hizon got 12 percent and the rest were undecided.
Jonjon Lazatin got 64 percent of the respondents while basketball coach Yeng Guiao got 26 percent and the rest were undecided.
Among the mayoral candidates in Mabalacat City, Halili emerged on top with 57 percent of the respondents followed by Cris Garbo with 41 percent and the rest were undecided.
Vice mayoral bet Marino “Boking” Morales got a whopping 65 percent of the respondents while his opponent Atty. Geld Aquino got 33 percent.
Halili and Morales are seen to win in Mabalacat City.
The top 15 councilors in Mabalacat City are: Noel Castro, Liza Pineda, Dwight Morales, Jeng Yumul, Carlo Rivera, Eddie Soto, Jerry Basilio, Timmy Dee, Froilan Galang, Bok Tiglao, Winwin Garbo, Dan Bayani, Gerry Magsino, Ranie De Leon and Cocoy Tiglao.
According to former US-based political analyst Atty. Rene Fernando, gubernatorial bet “Delta” Pineda will win a landslide victory. For the congressman in Pampanga’s 1st District, re-electionist “Jonjon” Lazatin, Mabalacat mayoral bet Halili and vice mayoral bet Morales will all win by a comfortable margin of 15 to 20 percent of the voters.
Fernando said majority of the electorate are already decided whom to vote this coming May 13 polls. “Alam na ng mga botante kung sino ang iboboto nila,” said Fernando.
The pre-poll survey was conducted by students of Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) and University of Assumption. The method of survey was random sampling, face-to-face interview with margin of error of three plus minus percent.
