BALANGA CITY — Thousands of Bataeños on Saturday trooped to the grand opening of WalterMart’s 1st branch in Bataan and the 30th in the country located along the Roman Highway in this component city.
Bataan Governor Albert Garcia, Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia, and WalterMart general manager Jerico Buñing welcomed the shoppers who waited for hours to enjoy exclusive promos like the 50 percent discounts, buy one take one and other freebies.
Diocese of Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos led the celebration of the Holy Mass and the blessing of the community mall.
Buñing in an interview told the Bataan press that the mall has four major tenants like WalterMart supermarket and department store, Abenson, Home plus, Giligan’s Restaurant, Mang Inasal, Dunkin’ Donuts and other popular food outlets, and a food court. The mall also boasts of a “spacious parking space.
Favorite fashion brands like Bench, Jag, Nike, Penshoppe, Dickies, Vans, New Balance, Outland, Patriot and Ever Bilena are also inside the famous mart.
Other famous shops like Watson’s, Japan Home, MR. DIY, and Expressions, Western Union, Picture City and World of Fun can also be found inside the mall.
Walter Mart was founded in the 1990s by Wilson Lim, at the time of the economic crisis when the major players were not expanding aggressively. The company saw that there was an opportunity to expand in developing communities and uplift their standards of living by providing gainful employment to the locals and improving their shopping experience.
