CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Commission on Population and Development (PopCom) cited outstanding population workers and offices in Central Luzon through its 2019 Kaunlarang Pantao Awards.
Formerly called the Rafael M. Salas Population and Development Award, it aims to recognize exemplary works of population officers in promoting and implementing the Philippine Population Management Plan (PPMP) towards empowering Filipino families.
“It highlights significant milestones by motivating local population offices and workers to work hard and continually foster dedication and determination to promote all the components of the PPMP at the local level,” PopCom OIC-Regional Director Vicky Barbea dela Torre said.
Winners in the Outstanding Local Population Structure category were Bataan (provincial level) and San Jose (city level). Pampanga and Meycauayan placed second in the provincial and city level, respectively.
Moreover, first place finishers in the Outstanding Local Population Workers category include Rosanna Verdida of Bataan (provincial level) and Nataniel Vergara of San Jose (city level). Arsenio Sangalang of Meycauayan likewise placed second in the city level.
Janet Macapagal of Pampanga, on the other hand, was hailed as Outstanding Local Population Worker provincial level and Jovicita Dela Rosa of San Jose in the city level. Ramela Buensuceso of Bataan ended second and Imelda Dizon also of Bataan third in the provincial level.
And lastly, Ma. Teresa Santillan of Meyacuayan City was bestowed with the Outstanding Barangay Population Volunteer with Analyn Oca of San Jose City in second place.
Winners of the outstanding local population officers and structures will be the region’s representatives to the national search. (CLJD/MJSC-PIA 3)
