The Medical City Clark has launched its one-stop shop Breast Center on Friday.
The center is manned by trained breast surgeons and breast radiologist in Central Luzon.
“Patients may now have their screening or diagnostic imaging and consultation in the same area,” Dr. Claudine Ordoñez, TMC Clark Breast Center head, said.
The Breast Center houses state-of-the-art imaging modalities such as ultrasound, fully digital mammogram and MRI.
Other services include ultrasound guided core needle biopsy, ultrasound or mammogram guided needle localization, breast conservation surgery for early breast cancer, sentinel node biopsy, breast reconstruction and comprehensive breast consult.
Ordoñez said the center recently purchased a vacuum assisted biopsy system device.
“Patients with small breast lumps who need to undergo excision may opt for this minimally invasive procedure,” Ordoñez said.
Ordoñez also assured patients that management is up-to-date, multidisciplinary, holistic and individualized.
“Gone are the days where quality and up to date management can only be attained in the metropolis.
Patients in Central Luzon can now receive the same treatment in a center near them,” Ordoñez said.
In the Philippines, one out of 13 women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. The country has the highest number of breast cancer diagnosed each year.
Breast doctors are encouraging women 20 years old and above to do self-examination or undergo screening.
