Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said the reduction of COVID-19 death cases showed the country is close to the manageable level.
Last April 5, the World Health Organization released a statement the cases in Philippines will double in four days. From 3,246 that time, the total cases have increased to 6,492 only after 15 days.
Duque said this indicates that the doubling time is prolonged but ‘the next few days might help us get a more complete picture’.
Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte announced the government is offering a P10-million reward to Filipino scientists who would succeed to find the cure for coronavirus.
The president announced in his previous press conference that an antiviral drug will soon be available to the public.
