Everything on Earth has a purpose. All that man needs for health and healing has been provided for by God through Nature. There are no incurable diseases – only the lack of knowledge, will and discipline.

Though there are many herbs which gives therapeutic benefits to Man, the best and my favorite one, which was part of my growing up, is GINGER. It is easy to find and prepare, that most households has it in their kitchen.

Ginger or Zingiber Officinale, belongs to the ZINGIBERACEAE family, like Turmeric and Galangal.

Ginger, originated in South East Asia. It is commonly used as a spice in culinary and as a natural healing remedy, for different kinds of health disturbances. The part used is the root, light gold in color.

GINGER HAS SO MANY BENEFITS:

CARDIO VASCULAR: It reduces bad cholesterol, lowers blood pressure, helps prevent internal blood clots, a good heart muscle toner and improves blood circulation.

DIGESTIVE SYSTEM: It is good for abdominal cramps, for flatulence, stomach bloating, upset stomach (dyspepsia). It helps in digestion of protein and fats and gets rid of intestinal parasite. It is the best aid for digestion.

MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM: It relieves deep muscle tension, inflamed joints and arthritis pain – when used as massage oil or for compress. Blend 5 drops of pure ginger oil to 100 ml of coconut oil.

NERVOUS SYSTEM: It is good for headaches – it relaxes the blood vessels in the head and lessen swelling in the brain.

REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM: It decreases morning sickness for pregnant women, avoids menstrual cramps, a menstrual promoter and good assistant in treating ovarian cysts and fibroid tissues.

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM: It treats common colds and flu, bronchial congestion and throat infections.
This amazing herb can also be used as a diuretic when taken cold, prevents nausea associated with chemotherapy, helps expel worms and a good mouth wash!

PREPARATION AND USAGE:

COMPRESS: Soak cloth in a hot water boiled with ginger and apply cloth to the tensed muscle area, 3 times or more as needed.


MASSAGE OIL: Add 2 drops of pure ginger oil to 100ml of coconut oil, massage after shower and before sleeping.


TEA: Add 2 teaspoons of powdered ginger per cup of boiling water, steep for 10 minutes, stir to mix. Best after meals, 2-3 cups a day.


CAPSULES: Inflammation Conditions: 1500 – 3,000 mg per day, depends on the severity. Take 1 hour after breakfast or meals.

Though ginger is a natural food, those with urinary tract infection and inflamed prostate, should consult their physician first.

Strong herbs like ginger, should only be taken for the purpose of correcting a health problem and not more than a week or two. Continuous use is not recommended, for the risk of damage in the lining tissue of the stomach and urinary tract.
