AC gov’t initiates livelihood programs amid pandemic

ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is living up to his promise of improving the lives of Angeleños, as the city government has created a number of livelihood programs during the pandemic.

Upon the Mayor’s instruction, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel presided a meeting with Public Employment Services Officer Maria Rosa Teodora Basilio, City Social Welfare and Development Officer Joy Duaso, Angeles City Economic Development and Investments Promotion Officer Irish Bonus-Llego, and Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles to talk about the creation of livelihood programs, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

According to Manuel, the city government is eyeing drug surrenderees, non-working solo parents, and Persons With Disability (PWDs) as beneficiaries for the planned livelihood programs.

Cabiles explained that some of the livelihood programs currently being planned by the city government include tinapa-making, basket weaving, eco-bag making, bigasan, and atchara-making.

“The city government will continue to assist all sectors thru livelihood projects initiated by Mayor Lazatin,” she added.
