SAMAL, Bataan-True to her campaign promise of establishing low-cost housing for Samaleños, Mayor Aida de Guia Macalinao is pushing for the construction of 858 housing units worth P452 million in Sitio Pugad Lawin, Barangay San Juan.
To fast-track the housing project, Macalinao met with Raul H. Mamac, DENR’s provincial environment and natural resources officer; representatives from private developer led by Mrs. Virginia C. Belencio, president of the United Home Development Foundation Inc.; officers of the San Juan Home Owners Association home owners, proponent of the project; and others.
To be funded by the Socialized Housing Finance Corp., the housing project will benefit 858 poor families inside the 6.4 hectares lot, said Macalinao.
For his part, PENRO Mamac assured Macalinao of his support for the documentation of the project, saying he will do all he can to fast-track it. “Tutulong ako sa inyo kung papaano mapadali at makakamura sa proseso,” said Mamac.
Macalinao said she will also tap the help of Bataan Gov. Abet Garcia and 1st District Rep. Geraldine Roman who, she said, are very supportive of the housing program of Samal.
