Clark Freeport Zone – Japanese technology and Filipino craftsmanship had established the Yokohama Tire Philippines, Inc (YTPI), producing quality tires for the past 20 years.
The YTPI has recently reached a milestone as it celebrates its 20th founding year last November 26, living up to the theme of ‘global excellence and performance’.
President and Representative Director of Yokohama Rubber Company Tadanobu Nagumo has also attended the inauguration of the West Plant expansion and the evening affair at the Quest Hotel.
Employees who have stood with the firm for the past 20 years and made a significant contribution in YTPI’s development and growth were also granted service awards.
Under the ‘Gift of Mobility’ Project, YTPI also pledged to donate 100 wheelchairs to seven institutions namely: Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth (Mabalacat), Bahay Pagibig (San Fernando), Kapampangan Development Foundation (Bacolor), Angeles City Office for Persons with Disability, Central Luzon Federation of Person with Disabilities (Region 3), Reception & Study Center for Children (Lubao), and Amor Village (Anao, Tarlac).
The YTPI has built a tradition of excellence in providing its customers with high quality passenger tires and established values felt by the larger community, enhancing quality of life of the Filipinos.
With many subsidiaries and operations worldwide, the Yokohama Rubber Company, a global company producing high performance tires, handpicked the Philippines to be their first tire manufacturing facility outside Japan.
The YTPI opened its facility at the Clark Freeport Zone in 1996 and is currently the only tire manufacturing facility in the country.
It is currently making 30,000 tires a day.
