SM Tarlac receives Certificate of Compliance on IATF protocols

The local government unit (LGU) of Tarlac awarded its Certificate of Compliance to SM City Tarlac for strictly implementing minimum public health standards (MPHS) in their stores and workplaces last May 21, 2021.

The said certificate is awarded to establishments after having been duly inspected by the Tarlac City Anti-COVID 19 Inter-Agency Task Force, and having been found fully compliant with minimum public health standards and safety protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), the Tarlac Provincial Anti-COVID 19 Inter-Agency Task Force, the Department of Health (DOH), DILG, DOLE, DTI, and other appropriate agencies in the management of COVID-19.

Recently, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) signed a Joint Memorandum Circular Number 21-01 Series of 2021 to implement the guidelines on the certification program.

For private sectors such as malls, manufacturing companies, hotels and restaurants, the certification is issued by the local government. The certification affirms customers that the establishments  minimize contact rate, have proper management of symptomatic individuals, provide a designated isolation room, and practice other minimum public health standards set by IATF.

In an interview, SM Supermalls President Steven Tan emphasized that as the country heals and recovers from the crisis, SM assures to continue serving and supporting communities while following government’s guidelines in ensuring that safety is the top priority.
