The Angeles City government is vaccinating more than 4,000 individuals per day, the highest number of people inoculated in Pampanga province on a daily basis.
This, as Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. ramps up the city’s vaccination program with the opening of the second vaccination site at the Angeles City National High School (ACNHS), which is adjacent to the City College of Angeles (CCA), the first vaccination site.
The second vaccination site at the ACNHS opened last June 29 in a bid to fasttrack inoculation of at least 70 percent of 462,928 population by November in a bid to achieve herd immunity.
On August 3 alone, some 4,256 individuals were vaccinated at the CCA for their first doses and ACNHS for their second doses. Of this number, 1,266 have received Janssen including 24 individuals vaccinated via the mobile bus; 249 (1st dose with Sinovac), and 2,741 individuals (2nd dose with Sinovac).
The Department of Health Region 3 has recognized Angeles City as one of the top performing LGUs in terms of vaccination program exceeding the 3,700 ceiling set by the DOH.
Angeles City has received the green status from the Department of Health (DOH) Region III because of its efficient vaccination program. The other three are Mabalacat City, City of San Fernando and San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan.
The Angeles City Health Office is also currently conducting house-to-house vaccination on some 660 bedridden seniors.
At least 95 elderly have already received their vax jabs in eight barangays – Claro M. Recto, Agapito Del Rosario, Virgen Delos Remedios, Lourdes Sur East, Lourdes Sur. Lourdes Northwest, San Nicolas, and Sta. Trinidad.
