The provincial government urges Tarlaqueños to get their booster shot against COVID-19.
This is part of the PinasLakas! campaign of Department of Health which aims to administer booster shots to about 50 percent or 23.8 million of the target population nationwide in the first 100 days of the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Provincial Health Officer Jeanette Lazatin disclosed that the province currently has a booster vaccination turnout of 24.19%.
As of July 26, about 256,518 have received their first booster while 19,822 got their second booster.
For senior citizens or A2 category, 109,703 out of the 129,409 target population or 84.77% were vaccinated with booster shots.
“We visit different barangays in the province to administer vaccines even during the weekends to cater the working population who are only available on weekends,” Lazatin shared.
Capas has the most number of fully vaccinated individuals while San Jose, Ramos, Sta. Ignacia and Pura belong to the least number of fully vaccinated individuals.
Meanwhile, Lazatin reminded parents of 5 to 11 years old to have their children vaccinated against the virus.
“We know that this is not mandatory but we highly recommend elementary students to receive their vaccines especially with the upcoming opening face-to-face classes,” Lazatin underscored.
Vaccination sites include Tarlac Provincial Hospital, district hospitals, rural health units, and select malls.
They are open daily from Monday to Friday while SM City Tarlac vaccination site is open from Monday to Saturday.
