Some 346 Kapampangans from the different sectors received assistance amounting to P 6,766,666 from the provincial government in separate ceremonies held at the Capitol Compound on Monday, Feb 27.
Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led the distribution of checks to beneficiaries that include senior citizens, 95 years old and above, persons with disabilities (PWDs), Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) children, sickly Kapampangans, among others.
According to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), aid given to each beneficiary comprises cash incentives, hospital bills, medical, financial, and burial assistance.
Each beneficiary received financial support amounting to 5,000 and above. Meanwhile, those who belong to the 95 years old and above received cash incentives worth P100,000.
“We decided na i-release lahat ng mga assistance every Monday. Lahat po ng mga binibigay po namin ay para sa inyo dahil katungkulan po namin sa Kapitolyo na mamigay para sa mga pangangailangan ng mga Kapampangan,” the governor said.
102-year-old Consulacion Yumul, one of the beneficiaries who received P100,000, thanked the provincial government for the one-time cash incentive given to them.
She said the money would greatly help her and her family finance her food and maintenance medicines.
“Salamat pu, panyali keng pamangan at panulu,” Yumul said.
