The Securities and Exchange Commission- Tarlac Extension Office (SEC-TAREO) has joined the recently held Breakfast Club Meeting of the Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (MACCII) at Camalig Restaurant, Angeles City, Pampanga.
Several members of the Angeles business community participated in the said forum discussing the latest SEC policies on company registration, corporate governance and capital market development.
Atty. Ma. Theresa L. Reotutar, Securities Counsel of SEC-TAREO presented to the Kapampangan business owners and investors the updates on the Commission’s digital initiatives on company registration through the Electronic Simplified Processing of Application for Registration of Company or eSPARC, on payment transactions using the Electronic System for Payment to SEC or eSPAYSEC and the annual filing of reports through the Electronic Filing and Submission Tool or eFAST portal. Atty. Reotutar also introduced the concept of One-person Corporation (OPC) for those entrepreneurs who want to be registered as a single stockholder with the Commission.
“These online services being implemented by the Commission form part of our mandate to improve the ease of doing business in the country and to support President Marcos’ order to digitalize government procedures and services in pursuit of sustainable finance and good corporate governance,” she added.
On the other hand, Ms. Jessapher S. Segovia, SEC Administrative Assistant comprehensively explained to the MACCII members the SEC Memorandum Circular No. 2, Series of 2023 also known as the SEC Grant of Amnesty for Non-Compliant, Suspended, and Revoked Corporations. The program is a great opportunity for businesses that have incurred fines or whose certificates of incorporation have been suspended, to start anew, maintain their good standing, and ensure that they will continue enjoying the benefits and advantages of being a corporation.
The members of the chamber were also provided updates on capital market development given by Mr. Mark M. Catacutan, SEC Information Officer who introduced briefly the crowdfunding financing and invited the MACCII members to join the upcoming SEC Roadshow on Capital Market Formation for MSMEs and Start-ups in Central Luzon Region this coming September that will emphasize how MSMEs can tap the capital market, including crowdfunding platforms, to raise funds for business expansion.
This collaborative activity of SEC-TAREO and MACCII aims to improve the Angeles City business environment and strengthen its community through advocacy, networking, and campaigning.
