The newly-inaugurated Super Health Center (SHC) in Victoria, Tarlac will provide accessible primary care and basic health services to residents and nearby municipalities.
The P12-million worth infrastructure, located at barangay Balayang, is among the 13 SHC slated to be constructed in the entire province.
Senate Committee on Health and Demography Chairperson Bong Go explained that SHC is a medium type polyclinic that provides birthing, dental, and clinical laboratory services; early detection of disease; check-up and consultation; and Universal Health Care primary care.
“It will not only give accessible healthcare services to the people but also help in decongesting our hospitals. We want to bring medical services closer to you through this facility. Maximize it in ensuring your health and wellness,” the legislator told residents.
Go also vowed to help the municipal government in expanding its amenities and facilities for the people.
Other SHCs in the province will rise in the municipalities of Gerona, La Paz, Paniqui, San Jose, Mayantoc, Camiling, Capas, Concepcion, Moncada, San Clemente, San Manuel, and Santa Ignacia.
The Department of Health targets to build about 600 SHCs all over the country for the next two years. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
