Around 100 farmers from Porac and Floridablanca, Pampanga, have successfully completed SM Foundation’s “Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan on Sustainable Agriculture” (KSK) program. The graduation ceremony took place on Monday, November 13, at SM City Clark’s Skyline.
In collaboration with key agencies such as the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), TESDA, Department of Tourism (DOT), and St. Isidore the Farmer School, the program empowered participants with skills in sustainable urban gardening and entrepreneurship.
SM Supermalls Senior Vice President Bien C. Mateo attended the ceremony and commended the farmers for their dedication.
Launched in 2007 as a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of SM Foundation, Inc., KSK aims to enhance the government’s food security efforts while creating alternative livelihood opportunities. The program focuses on teaching farmers modern planting techniques to boost the quality and quantity of their harvests.
