The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) reported that the e-Government Philippines (eGov PH) app has recorded 788,196 downloads in Central Luzon, with 94 local government units (LGUs) actively utilizing the eLGU system as of November 7, 2024.

During the 25th episode of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas of the Philippine Information Agency, DICT Regional Director Antonio Edward Padre highlighted that the eGov PH App integrates national and local government services into a centralized, user-friendly mobile platform.

“This app enables access to the digital national ID, PhilHealth, SSS/GSIS transactions, eTravel services, and tax payments. It streamlines processes and reduces costs for users,” he explained.

The eLGU system, accessible via the app, digitizes local government services, including business permit renewals, community tax certificates, and civil registry services. It modernizes LGU-specific functions while ensuring seamless integration with national systems, making government services more accessible online.

The DICT has already rolled out the eGov PH App and the eLGU system in Bataan, Tarlac, Zambales, and Bulacan.

Padre confirmed that the agency is working to secure funding to launch the app in Aurora, Pampanga, and Nueva Ecija, aiming for full regional coverage.

“We are collaborating with the eGovernment project management team from DICT’s Central Office to fund the app’s launch in the remaining three provinces of Central Luzon,” he stated.

Currently, nearly 30 national government agencies, including the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Government Service Insurance System, and Social Security System, are actively engaged with the app.

Users can directly access services from these agencies through the app, strengthening its role as a comprehensive digital solution for governance and public services.

With its growing adoption and ongoing expansion, the eGov PH App and eLGU system are transforming government processes and improving service accessibility for Central Luzon residents. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
