Over 1,300 residents benefit from Clark medical mission

CLARK FREEPORT— More than 1,300 residents from the Metro Clark area received free medical, dental, and optical services during the 2nd Joint Fil-Am Outreach Mission held on February 3, 2025, at the Clark Polytechnic Multi-Purpose Hall.

The initiative was organized by Clark Development Corporation (CDC) in collaboration with the Angeles City Clark Balibago Lions Club (ACCBLC) and the Maharlika Lions Club of Sacramento, California. The program provided medical consultations to 500 beneficiaries, dental services to 250, optical care to another 250, and extended services to an additional 300 individuals.

ACCBLC President Maria Kathreena Mercado emphasized their commitment to providing healthcare access to underserved communities. “We are here for those who struggle to visit hospitals and afford medicines. Our mission is to bring these essential services directly to them,” she said.

Beneficiaries included daily wage earners, indigent residents, and members of the Aeta community. Volunteer doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and nurses provided the medical services, while CDC’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Placement Division (CSRPD) facilitated logistics, venue setup, and coordination.

Aeta resident Esther Garcia from Sto. Niño, Bamban, expressed gratitude for the free medical assistance. “We often lack access to medicine in the mountains, so we came here for a check-up. This kind of help is very valuable to us,” she shared.

Victoria Macapil Timbol of Calumpang, Mabalacat, also benefited from the program. “The free medicines helped a lot. I also found out that my blood sugar is normal. The service was convenient, and CDC even provided transportation,” she said.

Erica Sanchez, a mother from Marcos Village in Mabalacat City, brought her children for medical consultations. “Both my kids had colds, so I took them for a check-up. Programs like this are truly helpful,” she added.

Organizations that supported the mission included Holy Family Academy, Systems Plus College Foundation, the Philippine Air Force, Subic Bay Centennial Lions Club, DPMexico Implant Dental Center, Lab1 Medical & Diagnostic Center, Hermosa Centennial Lions Club, and Beautéderm Group of Companies.
