Rival candidates in Porac, Pampanga, joined a unity walk and signed a peace covenant ahead of the 2025 elections, pledging to uphold fair and peaceful campaigning. Suspended Mayor Jing Capil ,former councilor Mike Tapang and Atty. Charle Santos set aside their political differences during the event, which was organized by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and local authorities. Their symbolic handshake underscored a shared commitment to rejecting election-related violence and ensuring an orderly electoral process.

The unity walk brought candidates, supporters, and community members together in a march through Porac’s streets, promoting integrity in politics. Religious leaders, law enforcement, and civic groups witnessed the covenant signing, reinforcing the importance of peaceful elections.
