A high school student of the Angeles City National High School won the recently concluded Rotary Club of Angeles essay contest. 4rth year HS student Ariza Doreen Tayag’s essay titled “Never Surrender in the Game of Life” won 1st prize. Tayag received a P10,000 prize from RC Angeles President Alvin Alfonso during the awarding ceremony at the Rib Eye Restaurant on Saturday morning. The Rotary Essay Writing contest was conceptualized by police retired General Orlando Macaspac. Eleven students wrote essays based on the theme “How I Understand the Evil Effects of Drug Abuse and as a Young Citizen How Could I Help in its Prevention.” The other winners were Danica V. Calma of Bonifacio B. Romero High School (1st place); Celina M. Pamintuan of Claro M. Recto information tech High School (2nd place); and Jericho Franz Valenzuela of Angeles City Science High School (3rd place).
