BALANGA CITY — Provincial Nutrition Council (PNC) is eyeing to bring home this year the Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) award, a recognition on nutrition conferred by the Department of Health.
Provincial Health Office Head Dr. Rosanna Buccahan stressed in a PNC meeting Wednesday that they will continue to intensity their programs to win the national feat.
“I hope we can achieve the CROWN because I know that we worked hard for this,” Buccahan said.
A regional team of the National Nutrition Council will again evaluate the province in terms of its effective management on local nutrition programs.
Bataan has been recognized as the Outstanding Province in the Region on Nutrition Program Implementation for two consecutive years and wining for the third time will make the province qualify for the coveted national recognition.
President Rodrigo R. Duterte is expected to personally confer the award during the National Nutrition Awarding ceremony usually held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
The awarding ceremony is an annual event recognizing local government units with outstanding implementation of nutrition programs that reduce the prevalence of malnutrition in their area. – PIA 3
