Bataan ranks 7th in latest NCC ranking

The province of Bataan ranked 7th in the latest National Competitiveness Council during the 4th Annual Regional Competitiveness Summit held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

This was revealed Monday by Governor Albert Raymond Garcia during his speech after the traditional flag raising ceremonies.

“From number 13th last year we jumped higher to the 7th. We are also number one in Central Luzon,” the governor said.

The NCC convened last July 14 with over 1,500 delegates present composed of local chief executives, national government agencies, academe, private sector, and media. The province of Rizal ranked first.

The summit highlighted the results of the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index 2016, which ranks over 1,300 local government units (LGUs) across the country based on their performance on three pillars: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, and Infrastructure Awards will be conferred to LGUs in four categories: 3rd to 6th Class Municipalities, 1st to 2nd Class Municipalities, Component Cities, and Highly Urbanized Cities. An award for the Most Competitive Province and Most Improved City and Municipality will also be given this 2016. –Mhike Cigaral
