Bataan to hold public speaking forum for PWD women

BALANGA CITY, Feb.28 (PIA) — Provincial Council on Disability Affairs (PCDA) will celebrate Women with Disability Day on March 25 with a forum discussing public speaking topics.

”Speak Up!: Boosting One’s Confidence in Public Speaking” will convene about 50 women with disability who are members of the Samahan ng Taong May Kapansanan sa Bataan. It will be held at The Plaza Hotel in Balanga City.

PCDA co-chair and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office Head Marilyn Tigas shared that women with disability have more needs compared to men with disability.

“The topic aims to conquer the fears of our participants when they are engaging with the public. It will also help them when they become future leaders of the community,” she furthered.

Philippine Information Agency Zambales Information Center Manager Carmela Jane Villar will serve as guest speaker during the one-day activity.

Women with Disability Day is celebrated every last Monday of March as pursuant to Proclamation No. 744, series of 2004.
