Classes and office work in Bulacan State University (BulSU) main campus in the City of Malolos and in Bustos, Bulacan were suspended on Monday morning due to a bomb threat prompting university officials to send home thousands of students who were supposed to take their midterm examinations.

Upon receiving the report, P/Supt. Heryl Bruno, Malolos City chief of police immediately proceeded at BSU campus in Malolos to validate the said information thru the directive of Malolos City Mayor Christian Natividad.

According to BulSU President Cecilia Gascon, a certain Nicky Quitain of College of Arts and Letters relayed to her that a bomb threat was received and relayed to her from College of Engineering Local Student Council.

Bruno with the help of 1st PMFC SWAT led by P/Supt. Ferdinand Germino conducted a clearing operation and investigation and concluded that the threat was a hoax info message.

Natividad said that a clearing of PNP-Malolos Bomb Squad is almost done. BSU-Malolos class will resume its classes tomorrow (October 2, 2018).

“Papanagutin natin ang may kagagawan ng bomb scare na yan,” the mayor said.

On the other hand, the same message was received by BulSU campus in Bustos.
