Bulacan job fair offers 2,000 work opportunities

MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan – Job opportunities await some 2,000 Bulakenyos who will get the chance to be hired on the spot during the one day job fair to be held at the Event Center of SM City Baliwag on May 1, 2017.

The job fair carries the theme “Matatag na Kabuhayan at Trabaho Tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago”, according to Elizabeth Alonzo, head of the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment and Development Office (PYSEDO).

She said that a total of 66 companies and agencies, both local and abroad, will be accepting job applications and interview prospect employees from 8 am until 4 pm.

The job fair is organized by the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Public Employment Service Office.

Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy Alvarado said that Bulakenyos should grab this opportunity for a chance to have a better future and in effect lessen the unemployment in the province.

Alvarado added that in relation to the job fair, there will be Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 1 pm in the same venue.

Pre-registration is also ongoing since Tuesday until Sunday April 30, 2017 for applicants who want to register early.

Based on the records of the PYSEDO, the annual target or average hired-on-the-spot is 15% but Bulacan usually records 25 to 30% hired-on-the-spot from qualified applicants.
