Caritas Manila lauds MCC youth for donations to Marawi

Mabalacat City, Pampanga– Caritas Manila, the social arm of the Archdiocese of Manila, commended the Mabalacat City College Campus Youth Ministry (MCCCYM) for the donations to displaced families in war-torn Marawi.

The ‘Oplan Marawi’ program themed ‘Gamit na Pang-aral, Pabaon sa Pagbangon’ is said to be the first among school organizations in Pampanga to source out donations for the people of Marawi.

” Not all teachers can impart to their students how to be compassionate to their fellows, but here in MCC, they did and I am congratulating you all for this project,” Damayan and Disaster Preparedness and Response Management Program Manager Gilda Avedilla said during the turn over of boxes to Caritas Manila held at the Heroes Hall in MCC on November 7.

According to her, the donations will be delivered straight to the people of Marawi through the Philippine Airlines Foundation and the Armed Forces of the Philippines deployed in Mindanao.

Oplan Marawi Focal Head Nerwin del Rosario also added that the youth organization sent letters of hope to the soldiers who fought for the liberation of Marawi.

“Let’s bring light , share love and be generous, just like Jesus Christ, to our brothers and sisters in Marawi,” youth ministry adviser Raymond Vergara highlighted.
