Cebu Pacific holds special homecoming event for Filipinos in HK

Cebu Pacific celebrates its Hong Kong route anniversary with the Filipinos in Hong Kong, led by Becoming Filipino’s Kyle “Kulas” Jennerman.

Cebu Pacific celebrated its Hong Kong route anniversary with a “boodle fight” lunch for the Filipino community in Hong Kong, led by celebrity blogger and digital influencer Kyle “Kulas” Jennerman of Becoming Filipino.

Hong Kong is the first ever international commercial route for Cebu Pacific, when the first Manila-Hong Kong-Manila flights were launched on November 22, 2001. In 17 years, Cebu Pacific has flown close to 9 million passengers between the Philippines and Hong Kong. The airline flies direct to Hong Kong from four of its seven hubs in the Philippines—namely, Manila, Clark, Cebu and Iloilo.

Currently, Cebu Pacific holds 60% capacity share among Philippine carriers serving Hong Kong.

“Homecoming” was a theme of the festivities, highlighted by the story of Osang, a Filipina working in Hong Kong featured in the Cebu Pacific “Make First Moments Happen” campaign. Osang’s story, dubbed “First Kiss,” shows a middle-aged lady working in Hong Kong who books a flight home just to see and kiss her first grandchild for the very first time. Osang’s story is derived from a comment posted by a netizen in the Cebu Pacific Facebook Page.

To enable these modern-day heroes like Osang to fly home, Cebu Pacific makes travel more affordable and accessible with its low fares and wide network of destinations. The airline showcases how it allows everyone to “Make First Moments Happen” by offering the most number of frequencies for destinations with a large concentration of Filipino communities, paired consistently with its year-round low fares.
